Jimmy at the James is inspired by furnishing styles of the 70’s. Signature elements were designed to evoke these origins while giving an inviting, unique and contemporary character. Guests enter through a door at the back of the Bacon Bar sandwich shop arriving in a small vestibule room lined with sparkling chrome ball chain curtains. Custom earth-toned lounge chairs and sofas provide seating along with diamond bevel shaped bronze cocktail tables and plexiglass floor lamps. The sculptural bronze bar, with a cluster of suspended chrome lighting tubes above and beveled amber toned mirrors behind, has been set at an angle in one corner of the space, taking its cue from the nostalgic basement lounge. Also playing on this theme are the backlit wood walls; inspired by wood veneer wall paneling, here with spacing of black stripes, reinterpreted with an elevated contemporary character. Varying widths of walnut wood planks are separated with illuminated slots giving warmth, depth and play of light around the perimeter of the room.
